Professional Highlights

Angela earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Psychology from the University of West Georgia, where she taught a variety of college courses in the Psychology Department and worked part-time in the university’s counseling center. Additionally, Angela worked for three years in Atlanta, Georgia, for the state, working with individuals with substance abuse issues. Angela was previously employed as Clinical Director of a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program at an eating disorder psychiatric treatment facility in Utah.

Angela works primarily with adults with a variety of mental health issues, including grief/loss, anxiety, depression, addictions (eating disorders and substance use/abuse), career/vocation/academic concerns, life transitions, intra- and interpersonal relationship conflicts, communication issues, and complex trauma. 

Angela has worked with a variety of clients from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, including those who self-identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Angela seeks to create a safe and collaborative environment wherein a client feels seen and heard, gains insight and greater self-compassion, and has a greater capacity to heal and move forward in life. 

Angela is also a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and received her training at the Maiberger Institute. EMDR helps people heal from traumatic events and life-disturbing experiences. It is evidence-based and considered a recommended treatment by several international mental health organizations. Research shows it has been helpful with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and addictions, and the results can increase the client’s awareness, internal stability, and build resilience.
