Professional Highlights
Maddie received her Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Human Development and Family Studies with minors in both Mental Health Advocacy and Spanish in 2022. She continued her passion by receiving a Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2024.
During her time at Utah State, she completed her internships at both a private practice serving the general community and a community-based practice that served individuals and families who have been involved in the court system.
While at USU, she also participated in a research team exploring the impact of childhood parenting styles and couple relationships with fathers in Ecuador.
Specialties
Maddie’s therapeutic process takes a humanistic family systems approach. She uses several core modalities and theories that form her experiential eclectic style. The modalities include the Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Model (BPSS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She has received specific training in EFT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Gottman Couples Therapy.
Maddie believes that change occurs through a healing process and journey that is unique to each individual, couple, or family that she may see. Maddie strives to emphasize the importance of collaboration and a sense of safety as the healing journey is embarked on. Her humanistic approach fuels her belief that people are not the problem; rather, the problem is the problem. She encourages her clients to take the courageous step into vulnerability as they accomplish their goals.
Maddie is passionate about working with children, teens, adult individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life and backgrounds. She is a generalist who helps those who are impacted by anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relational/marital distress, sexual difficulties, stress, and other social and world events.
