
Marinne Hammond

Professional Highlights
Marinne is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at Brigham Young University. She has gained clinical experience through her work at the BYU Comprehensive Clinic, where she has provided individual therapy and conducted psychological assessments.
She also worked at OCD Anxiety Centers, where she provided exposure therapy for clients struggling with OCD and anxiety. In this role, she also facilitated Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills classes. Marinne recently defended her master’s thesis exploring the relationship between perfectionism, self-compassion, and social support.
Specialties
Marinne has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She uses a values-based approach to help clients identify what matters most to them and develop skills to move toward the life they want, even while navigating difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative and action-oriented. Marinne works with clients to establish meaningful goals and practice strategies outside of sessions to support lasting growth and change.
Marinne believes therapy is a space to better understand oneself and develop a healthier relationship with thoughts and emotions. She strives to create an environment where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
She has experience working with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds, including clients from the LGBTQ+ community.
