Professional Highlights
Dr. Balagna completed his pre-doctoral internship at Texas A&M University and graduated from BYU with a PhD in Counseling Psychology. He is a member of the Utah National Guard and has deployed overseas.
Specialties
In therapy, Dr. Balagna emphasizes helping people make sense of their emotions and being informed by them to make healthy and deliberate choices. He helps people see how certain ways of feeling, thinking, and behaving have developed and then works on developing a more intentional way of experiencing emotions and living. He tries to create a warm and empathic space while also challenging people to help them reach their goals.
Dr. Balagna describes himself as a generalist who tends to see adults who are experiencing depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, anger, and the effects of trauma. He also works with those who are struggling with addictions and masturbation/pornography. He has worked with diverse social and cultural backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ groups.
