Meet Jason McBride
Jason McBride received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from BYU. His dissertation focused on incorporating spirituality into therapy assessment and outcomes. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Wasatch Mental Health working with children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to his clinical work he works as a consultant on a research team at BYU.

Re-Humanizing Diversity
Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr this month and witnessing the inauguration of a new President has got our therapists in Spanish Fork thinking and talking about diversity. In a recent training provided to our therapists, the concept of “re-humanizing” diversity was presented. Re-humanizing diversity means to approach the concept of diversity by focusing on the individual human experiences and identities within a diverse group, rather than simply acknowledging the differences. This creates a more empathetic and respectful (dare we say loving) understanding of people from various backgrounds.

Meet Rachel Chapman
Today we are spotlighting one of our therapists in Spanish Fork, Rachel Chapman. Rachel received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from BYU. Her dissertation focused on what mental health providers need to know to help serve Native Hawaiians who identify as third gender, or mahu. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Arkansas and has also worked at BYU-Hawaii and BYU-Provo in their respective counseling centers.
