Introducing Tate Paxton

Alliance Psychology is pleased to have Tate, a therapist in Orem, working with adults. Tate, a PhD candidate, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Psychology after initially studying political science, history, and economics. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Brigham Young University. His research focuses on measuring outcomes from multiple perspectives to improve the therapeutic process. Tate is also interested in the role of technology in living a fulfilling life. He has volunteered at Utah State Hospital and worked in a range of mental health settings, including community health and college counseling centers.
Tate has experience working with adults as well as children and their parents. His style draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He has worked with clients with varied psychological concerns, including anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, personality and interpersonal problems. Tate’s focus is to personalize therapy by true listening and closely attending to the client’s values and development. He believes that an authentic therapeutic relationship requires warmth, understanding, and focused mindfulness and actively examines the role of technology in a client’s life to see if it matches their priorities. He enjoys working with individuals from religious, non-religious, formerly religious, and LGBTQ+ communities.
Tate loves the outdoors! Depending on the season, he loves trail running, hiking, skiing, and backcountry snowboarding. Although some may find it boring, he loves reading history and biographies. He is a huge fan of the TV show Alone, although he admits he would not be a very good contestant as he wouldn’t last long by himself:)
We’d love to see if Tate can help you in your mental health journey! Call Alliance Psychology today at schedule an appointment with Tate, a therapist in Orem at 801-224-2313.
