Professional Highlights: Dr. McBride received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from BYU. His dissertation focused on incorporating spirituality into therapy assessment and outcomes. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Wasatch Mental Health working with children, adolescents, and adults. in addition to his clinical work he works as a consultant on a research team at BYU.
Specialties: Dr. McBride has had experience working with children in the STRIDE program at Wasatch Mental Health implementing a positive reinforcement behavior program. He has substantial testing experience having worked at the University Accessibility Center at BYU, testing student athletes with learning and attention disorders. He also provided psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults at Wasatch Mental Health. His therapy approach is grounded in relational theory and includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and spiritually-oriented treatments. He works with adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and addiction.
