Individual Therapy
At Alliance Psychology, we believe talk therapy works best when it is personal, collaborative, and built on trust. That’s why our individual therapy services are designed around your goals, your challenges, and your life.
For over 25 years, we’ve been helping children, teens, and adults in Utah County find hope, healing, and a healthier way forward. Our large team includes PhD-level psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), clinical mental health counselors (CMHCs), and PhD candidates.
What is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy, sometimes called psychotherapy or counseling, is a confidential, one-on-one interaction with a mental health provider.
Together, you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space. It is a chance to sort through difficult feelings, build coping strategies, and discover new ways of moving forward.
Unlike group or family therapy, the focus here is entirely on you, your goals, your pace, and your personal story.

Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
Therapy is most helpful when it is personal, and that’s how we work. Our approach is simple: a respectful relationship, a clear plan, and practical skills you can use in everyday life.
Our name, Alliance Psychology, reflects who we are. We believe in building a genuine partnership or “alliance” built on respect, goals, and understanding. We start by listening and focusing not just on your symptoms, but on how your life, roles, and values are being affected.
What does this look like in real life?
- We match you with the right therapist first. With a broad team of expert therapists, counselors, and psychologists, we focus on connecting you to a provider who fits your needs.
- We stay practical. Your individual sessions are a balance of safety, reflection, and skills. You leave with tools to try between visits and small, measurable steps that build momentum.
- We keep care coordinated. If medication or medical input may help, we’ll collaborate with psychiatrists or your primary care clinician.
- We respect your pace. Healing isn’t a race. We check in regularly to adjust the plan, celebrate gains, and address new challenges.
