Professional Highlights: Summer Simmons, AMFT completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from Utah Valley University in 2020. She continued her education there to earn a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2023. Summer uses several evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Summer has special training in working with couples using Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She has also received specific training in Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Specialties: Summer enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families using an attachment-based, trauma-informed lens. She especially enjoys working with individuals presenting with anxiety, trauma and PTSD, faith transitions/crises, and relationship issues.
